I don't think it is me who is struggling to understand the chart.
The whole point of the chart is where it is going, not where it started. This is charting the strongest ends of the public opinion spectrum, and as such, it is a fairly stark representation of how quickly nearly 20% of America has soured on Obama. It will be interesting to see where this graph is in six weeks and six months from now (no, I'm not making predictions).
