Other than the revolving singers (and I like both Hagar and Roth), the problem with EVH is legacy. Guitar players have tried to imitate him, but they lack the style and song sense. The guitar sounds like its alive in the hands of EVH, but imitators just sound like spazzes, or like they think playing a lot of hammer ons and pull aways is the whole gig.
