Default The end game for BYU

BYU's discriminatory practices will eventually be made illegal. Or regulated to the extent that BYU cannot be accredited or function as a legitimate university.

I think the eventual end game is that the church divests itself as BYU on an official basis. And it will be like Southern Virginia University. Closely aligned with the church and known as a Mormon university, but it's own entity not officially controlled by the church. It will be unofficially controlled by the church by virtue of the Board of Trustees. I don't mean anything sinister by that. I just mean that it will be populated by persons who are closely aligned and loyal to the church.

Now the other option is that the church changes BYU such that it complies with laws and regulations.

So what's the difference. In the former case, the church can say it's not a party to what it does not agree, and in the latter, the church says it may not agree, but it has to compromise in the interest of being a university in this country.
