I've always thought it crazy that members of the church wanted to send people to prison for living polygamously--not officially married, but living
as if married.
Should gay couples go to prison if they live like a married couple and consider themselves to be married? Is there anyone advocating that?
The SCOTUS decision that allowed the federal govt. to imprison people who considered themselves married (but weren't really), but allows polygamous relationships among those who do not consider themselves married (i.e. promiscuity) is bizarre.
