Utah is good in sports, as manifested by their current ranking in the Director's Cup.
75th in the nation. There are more than 200 teams ranked BEHIND Utah!
I'm sure the Pac 10 took Utah's overall sports program strength into account when they picked up the 75th best program in the country. Which incidentally is about where there athletic dept. budget is ranked as well.
Sure, it's not as good as Colorado, sitting at #66, but Utah hasn't had the advantage of BCS-type money.
