I don't normally enjoy their music but I have to admit I would prefer to listen to kids from a boy band sing in harmony than listen to some dude scream into a microphone while his backup band plays the same three chords over and over and over.

I suppose one could make the argument that the Beatles started as a sort of boy band, but they certainly transcended that role in ways I can confidently assert 'n Sync (or however you apostrophe-ize that abomination of a name) never will.
