I have to pay my own tithing. The point of tithing is not giving the Church your money, it’s making the sacrifice and doing the work – writing the check and filling out the form to your ward, and being accountable to your Bishop.
I give to United Way and the Church deducts that. I have a bus pass, the Church autodeducts my part. The Church will never autodeduct our tithing.
