Of course this all fell apart and those around here looking for an easy buck or two are getting hounded by creditors and worried what lies ahead for them. Several of the homes have been in foreclosure and others have gone through a short sale. I have about four friends that got involved in this and know of several other people that did it also. I guess about 75 homes are involved with just this one guy down there and their was several guys doing it. Greed is a killer every time.
That is an amazing story. Amazing in that Mr. Skinner thought up this scheme to become a small-scale "corporate raider". Amazing in that, lacking his own credit (I assume) he was able to persuade others to lend him their good names. And really amazing that people bought into it. It stunk from the beginning. Didn't they see that?

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.
