I have studied health care systems enough to be reasonably certain that faddish claims of UHC are untrue.
Culture, diet, exercise habits and genetic make up play a much bigger role in health than UHC. I question the correlation used by those studies used to promote those beliefs.
I do not believe in UHC and the gargantuan costs of such an enterprise given American culture of health care would be staggering, and not inconsequential. We would not recapture sufficient benefits to pay for it. We need market reforms and cultural reforms, but how to achieve those. More handouts are not the answers.
