Once again, what's "good for the ecosystem" is moot. If a particular animal or plant or rock or whatever has no practical value to man then it is useless and does not deserve protection. As long as it isn't harmful to the useful animals and plants than there's no need to destroy it. Once it interferes with man's useful plants and animals it needs to be eliminated.
