Certainly it's a better option than metaphorically taking your ball and going home. Most bishops appreciate their auxiliaries' input.

I have not experienced Mike's predicament, and in almost all instances the bishop has accepted my recommendation over that of even his counselors. But if I were as uninspired as Mike, I wouldn't bother making them any more.
