Learning to manage time and money; learning to truly serve others; learning that you're word is a fair gauge of your integrity; learning to adapt to your companion's different if not flat out bizarre eccentricities - these are invaluable things I learned while on a mission.

Friends of mine who are no longer practicing Mormons and even one who has decided that the LDS church is the great and abominable church of the devil and everyone I know who is active or partially active all say that they are grateful to have served a mission - and nobody has regretted it - for the reasons stated above.
