"Detoxification" is a huge deal right now in pseudoscience. Colon cleansing is one of the very few areas where the products are not absolute snake oil, but even then it only does a person any good if they are actively suffering from bowel issues. The concept that toxins build up in your system, at least in the way it is generally described, is false and is used only to scare people into buying useless products.

The pictures in your post are either fake or the result of someone whose medical problems are far more serious than what a colon cleanse will fix.

Interesting tip: Most of the "detox" products are actually only useful in passing drug tests. They have no actual cleansing properties, but serve the purpose of diluting the urine enough for drugs to not show up, and adding enough B vitamins and creatine that they don't get a "do over" result. Of course, it is illegal to market products for this purpose, but everybody who is familiar with them knows exactly what they're for.

Powdered inositol is another popular product sold for illicit purposes. It's more expensive to manufacture pills than powder, yet inositol powder is sold for roughly 10x more than pills, due to inositol being the perfect cocaine-cutting agent. Not relevant to your inquiry, but fun to know.
