If you don't care about baseball you're not a genuine intellectual. You need at least to feign a passing interest. See George Will columns re the Oriols. What other sport has hired an Ivy League President as its CEO? (It will be interesting to see if this unspoken rule changes with the recent disgrace of baseball.)
