Fever Pitch

We rented fever pitch this weekend.

Not a bad flick. Romantic comedy- what else would my wife let me watch.

The best part of the movie was reliving the Red Sox season. But if you don't like romantic comedies or baseball, this is not your thing.

Has Jimmy Fallon been in any other movies? Not an oscar winning performance, but he did have a few funny moments in this one, my favorite being the Jimmy Stewart impression toward the beginning of the show.

May I also add that if you despise the Red Sox it probably is not a good movie. I have not seen it and have no intent to see it being a Red Sox hater and all. I can think of one circumstance that would induce me to watch it though.

I was not a Red Sox fan before viewing it, but

I saw it in Boston last spring in the theatres. It was great watching it with Red Sox fans, who have suffered so long.

Very enjoyable.

Saw this movie on a plane. . .

A prodigiously dumb movie. Does anybody really enjoy Drew Barrymore or Jimmy Fallon?

They need to pass a law that says you cannot appear in a movie if you have ever been a regular on SNL and your name is not Bill Murray or Adam Sandler.

I see no reason to exclude Adam Sandler from that law. In fact I would make the law only Bill Murray, Steve Martin and Dana Carvey can be in movies.

Since viewing films is my escapism, I don't watch

all films to edify or to enlighten me.

Prodigiously and dumb in the same sentence; impressive.

Have you seen the original Fever Pitch, the one about soccer? Its based on Nick Hornby's autobio. I was originally interested in it because it stars Colin Firth, and Mike thought the picture on the front cover held the promise of some sort of eye candy..

Alas, no nudity.

That said, we both liked it-- we also liked High Fidelity and About a Boy (also based on Nick Hornby books).

No nudity well that means I have no need to see it ;). Actually I do want to see the real version of the movie and not that Red Sox one.

I thought Hi Fidelity was a very good movie and also a very good book as wel.

Adam Sandler???

Seen one, you've seen 'em all.

Chevy Chase, Steve Martin, Chris Farley (okay Farley is a stretch, but I thought Tommy Boy was brilliant the first 7 times I watched it). Will Ferrell made me laugh several times last year while watching Elf - I hope that doesn't cause me to lose any credibility with this crowd.

I would include Eddie Murphy in that list. That is, the Eddie Murphy of Trading Places & The Golden Child...not the Eddie Murphy of Pluto Nash and of certain children's fare.
