Who does the Big 10 add?

Big 10 is thinking of adding a 12th team.

What if they took a Big 12 team, like Missouri for example.

Who goes to the Big 12?

What if TCU was picked up? I can't say that I would be happy.

Now that is interesting. If true, I don't know who they pick up. Missouri does fit better in the Big 10 than the Big 12, but all of Missouri's rivals are in the Big 12 (although maybe Illinois could take their place). The revenue from the Big 10 could be better for Missouri. I don't think they would take TCU. That's pretty far out of their footprint. Syracuse? Rutgers? Cincinnati? Another unlikely push for Notre Dame?

One thing this will do is up the pressure on the Pac 10.

No, I didn't mean to say that TCU might be picked by the Big 10. TCU could be picked up by the Big 12 if they lost a member. At least theoretically.

Of course, I'd rather they picked up BYU.

Ah. Got it. I would be surprised if the Big 12 would take TCU. I think the North teams would be very reluctant to give Texas another team. They might try and poach Iowa from the Big 10. Perhaps Illinois. Utah or BYU might also be a decent fit.

For the Big 12 it would be a matter of money. Who brings the most money to the table.

TCU had a great this year, and they are actually making news in the DFW area (which they usually don't).

But their basketball is terrible, and I can't really see them in the Big 12 north.

Could the Big 12 actually add TCU, BYU, and Utah to go to the Big 14? That would be interesting. They have already trademarked "Big 14".

Looks like the Big 10 is serious.

Notre Dame is obviously the first choice.

Let's say the dominoes fall, and the Big 12 has an opening. Just think how terrible it would be for BYU or Utah, if one or the other was picked to join the Big 12.

On the A&M forum, there is quite a bit of talk about what could possibly happen with conference realignments. Many people speaking highly of adding BYU. Also Utah.

That would be a DREAM for me. BYU in the Big 12. I could die happy if that happened.

Dear baby Santa in Heaven with your little baby reindeer and Tyco Sled,

Please make it so BYU joins the Big 12.

Amen.

I could seeing the BYU Board of Trustees vetoing a BYU move to the Big 12 without Utah. Because of General Authorities ties to the University of Utah (not to mention "the president" of BYU). "For the good of the state."

But I have no doubt that Utah would go to the Pac 10 w/o BYU if given the chance, leaving BYU to eat crumbs in the MWC.

Weakmindedness. That's why being an alum of BYU is so frustrating.
