I can't believe they haven't invited the Cougarguard team, especially after our performance last year at ULCER.

It would be fun to be a volunteer for something like this or be a spectator on the top of some of those hills.

Stage 4 looks tough.

I was just talking to my cousin about this last month.

He won one of the mountain-top finish road races 3 or 4 years ago. At least he was the first official finisher. Frankie Andreu showed up that morning and jumped in the race without registering. He beat my cousin to the top, but was listed on the results as "Guy in the Red Jersey", or something like that.

At the last feed station, my cousin's support team (his wife and 8 year old daughter) were late with his replacement H2O bottles. They caught up with him a quarter mile up the road and tried to hand him a bottle out the car window. Knowing he would be DQed for taking support outside the feed zone, he refused, thinking he would have to finish the last 3 or 4 miles to the top without water. Frankie pulled up to her car, took the bottles instead and put them in his cages. A couple of seconds later he turned to my cousin and said, "Hey dude, I've got a couple of extra water bottles. Could you use one?" He gratefully took them, rehydrated and then shortly thereafter got dropped by Frankie on the final push to the top.

I have been up at Snowbird this week since we have a timeshare here. I had not done the climb from the mouth of Little Cottonwood to Snowbird before. I did it this week 3 times and the first 4 miles are a serious grade. It is very challenging for me and while the scenery is beautiful, I do not enjoy this climb, yet. There are just no breaks on that climb. The descent is one of the roughest descents I have done. the road is not in very good condition, but the racers won't have to worry about that.
