ESPN Gameplan

wife: "did you order ESPN gameplan?"
me: "no."
wife: "it showed up on our bill."
me: "huh?"
[pause]
me: "oh yeah, they automatically bill you the next year if you don't cancel. I forgot about that." (this is the truth actually)
wife: "oh."
me: "I guess we could cancel if it you wanted."
wife: [no answer]

If we're not in ABC's viewing area for the BC game, will we be able to get it on ESPN Gameplan?

MikeWaters 08-26-2005 05:37 PM

99% chance yes.

This is a duplicate of the transcript of a conversation in our home a couple of weeks ago. Actually, it's a duplicate of a conversation we've had every August for the past three years.

I nearly bagged it this year, since I'm attending some of the games and may not get much use out of it. But some of the cheapskates in our ward are going to come over in our absence and tune in while we're in Provo. I believe I should be able to deduct my Gameplan fees as a welfare contribution, and that the donation should show up on my tithing settlement statement. Can I get a ruling here?

As Ward Clerk meddling in financial affairs

I hereby declare and rule that all BYU football expenditures, be they television, game tickets, flights or room and board, are hereby fully deductible from tithing contributions.
