How long will this stupid sport be allowed to persist?

interesting, he was a former OC for BYU? I don't remember him.
Kind of strange that he could function as an alcoholic while at BYU. |

I kind of miss the mad scientist, Crowton.
It's funny, in Crowton, we had a guy with ideas, but no concept of leadership. And in Bronco we have the opposite. A guy with leadership (most of the time), but no ideas. |

actually Borich's name is coming back to me. Maybe I'm not going senile after all. Sad thing for a man to spiral into death like that.
|
This hits close to home. Borich was my boss a few years after he left BYU. His brother was my high school football coach, and his mom lived down the street from one of my good friends.

The brain can be remarkably resilient. Most people who develop mild traumatic brain injury fully recover within 6 months. But mess it up in the right way and you're quality of life goes out the window, forever.

My wife was just recounting a Mormon kid from her high school, star quarterback, who was permanently paralyzed.
Throwing out head injuries and paralysis, what about torn up knees and broken bones and other messed up joints leading to lifelong trouble? Worth it? The game really needs to be smaller and slower. Maybe they need to start instituting weight limits by position. I guess in kids football, leagues often have rules about how big a running back can be. SO teams don't just take the biggest kid and have him mow over all the other kids. |
