Obama looking to storm through to the White House!!!!!
I haven't been this excited about a political victory in my lifetime. Obama beat the odds and knocked off a tough Clinton campaign in Iowa, of all places.
I think there are lots of messages to take from tonight. First, independents are leaning HEAVILY Democratic right now. That may have shifted with an Obama loss tonight towards McCain, but Obama has HUGE momentum now, and independents are likely to continue flocking to his campaign, propelling him to wins in New Hampshire and South Carolina. Second, people in America really want change. That is bad news for Clinton, who superficially appears to be more of the same, due to her connection to Bill. This could be a tidal wave election, where Obama has a real chance to overwhelmingly be elected as the next president. If a black man can win in Iowa, one of the whitest of all states with a solid evangelical base, from a party attracting more than twice the turnout in a caucus than the Republican party, where can't he win? For the first time in the history of this great nation, the ultimate glass ceiling may be about to be shattered for African-Americans. And, as the excitement about that fact builds, African-Americans may be involved in voting in unprecedented numbers. This is a historic day, and a thrilling one. |

Awesome, he is going to get rid of lobbyists, unite Americans, provide health care for all , middle class tax cuts, stop sending jobs abroad, bring the troops home, eliminate the terrorists and make all Americans feel good about Americans.
The only problem is with a democratic congress he will turn us in France. What good will it do to feel good about being an American when we will be French. |

National health care is a socialist idea. That is too much for me. |

The United States is an experiment in nearly unbridled capitalism. It's hilarious to me that some are so insistent on labeling people socialists when they are clearly nothing of the sort. Unless you get out the garden hose when your house catches fire and send your kids to private schools, you have no business calling any major candidate a socialist.

But I think Obama would be a disaster as a president. As a Repub, I'm happy Edwards will be out of the race very soon. Dems love threading the needle with their candidates. Very little room for error with that strategy. Just ask Gore and Kerry. |
