Finally! What a great game, gutsy.

Jaren Hall just wrote his name into lore. But not just him. Everyone. Great to see this team come together, play hard, him them in the mouth, and just never stop. Crowd was great too.

Maybe I should quit my job and move to Provo. LOL.

Good game, even though they outgained us per play.

Bigger is the conference news. With Big 12 money and status, Utah won't be able to compete with us. Things will return to MWC dynamic.

We can hope. I think Big 12 football is more interesting to the part of the country that cares about college football. West Coast is a dead zone, and actually I have long preferred Big 12 to Pac 12. On the other hand, would have loved BYU in the Big 12 when it had A&M, OU, and UT. But beggars can't be choosers.

This is also great for me personally. Options to go to games in Waco, Fort Worth, Houston, and Lubbock. And Stillwater too. It's like BYU relocated to Texas.

You've got a bonanza.

I'm saving my travel funds for Europe so I won't do any football traveling for the time being.

But I'll drive to Morgantown and Cincinnati (my was on the Kentucky faculty).

I'm completely shocked we didn't hear a peep from LGTBQ advocates this time around.

Many people thought that was the primary reason we didn't get in in 2016, and that reason is, of course, still lingering.

I saw a CNBC video about cancelling over social justice. In order for a business to be cancel somebody (pull their endorsements out), they need to believe that not doing so will hurt their profits.

That would mean the Big 12 would have to fear (1) getting their ESPN money cancelled, and/or (2) get hurt at the gate for taking BYU.

Given the ESPN's longstanding working relationship with BYU, (1) is unlikely. (2) is also unlikely because the SW is conservative, even if the student body isn't.

Doesn't make our admittance to the conference any less surprising.

I am betting behind the scenes BYU took steps to assure the other schools that they would be stepping more in line. For example, the invitation to the Big 12 came not long after BYU announced their new inclusion office (whatever Mormon-PC name they called it). Which happened to be the same time as the "muskets" LGBT talk. I think the politics of the Mormon hierarchy is more complicated than we think. That's what I took away from the David O. McKay biography, among other things.

We get mixed messages because the messages are actually indeed mixed.

Cool. If all it takes is an inclusion office, I was tripping about nothing.
