Anyone see John Heder on SNL?
 

I thought it would be an excellent forum for his talents, but it turns out that perhaps he doesn't have much range beyond his Napoleon character. He really seemed more like one of the athlete hosts than an actor host. He seemed to be reading his lines and looked very uncomfortable. If it were not for a decent Werewolf sketch in which his character only grew a mustache when there was a full moon, the whole show would have been a total loss. As it stands, I think he was exposed as a poor actor. Or perhaps he just had a bad night.

I didn't think that Jon was all that bad. I thought that he was ok. I thought that the SKITS were really bad. The overall quality of writing was poor and the dialogue didn't always make sense.


I'm not a big fan of Ashlee Simpson, either.

I only caught the last few minutes with some horrible movie-phone chick date. Maybe I joined in too late on that one, but it was ...ugh.... I did find the Black-eyed Peas skit pretty hilarious, though, just on the level of the commentary it is on them. I remember my friends in high school that said a band had sold out when, basically, when other people liked them. That group has reached a new level of sell-out when they jump in for Best Buy and all those other companies. But, hey, if you might be a one-hit wonder, milk it while you can.

Heder reminded me of Val Kilmer, but even dumber and a worse actor.

Headlining Heder and Simpson is all about capturing young people.

and mormons.

It was the first time that I'd watched the show in about five years, and I turned it off after about twenty minutes.

I liked the opening monologue though.

The monologue was by far the funniest part of the show.
