BYU vs UNC

This UNC team looks waaay better than Louisville. We're keeping up pretty well so far, but this one could get away from us really quick with the amount of talent they have on offense.

I agree. Lose by less than 10 would be a sort of victory tonight.

Trent cannot make a layup to save his life.

He's so good at getting to within two feet of the hoop, and then goes too strong off the glass.

Ridiculous.

Also, 10-2 FT disparity for UNC so far.

Can't be too surprised, I guess.

I've found that a disparity in athleticism always leads to a disparity in fouls/FTs. Moving your feet is the only way to avoid fouling, and their athleticism is incredible. We're still hanging with them, but a FT disparity is going to be a given this whole game.

BYU is playing really well right now. I think we'll see a difference in depth come the 2nd half, but if the Cougars can keep it close, they could have a chance to catch UNC of guard and get a win.

Boy, without Tavernari BYU is in big trouble tonight.

As someone said yesterday, no nerves and no conscience.

He also has received kudos for his shooting from Dickie V, which is very difficult to do, as Vitale is such an ACC honk.

I love his range, but if I were him I'd be worried about getting labeled a caster, ala Rose last year. Shooting the 3 is great, but a real basketball player is able to create, rebound, etc. Tav can do those things, but this game he isn't.

Casting aspersions on Tavernari during this game?????? He's already had 2-3 steals. He's handled the ball all over the court.

You want to cast aspersions, start with Burgess (the incredible disappearing shooting guard the last two games), Cummard (hackmeister), and Plaisted (finish worse than a 90 year old man on viagra).

I'm not being negative on him, as I love his style of play. It's just that this might be the one game of his life when the most people are watching, and he looks like Craig Hodges out there. I'm frankly shocked by how effective he is this year. Last year I remember him being a great bit player but I wasn't expecting him to be the superstar this year.
