My favorite line:

"In its final days, the campaign in California feels less like a debate over the nature of marriage and more like a low-down discussion of which is creepier: gay sex or Mormons?"

Yes. It is interesting. The author criticizes both sides of the campaign, noting lies and fear mongering by the heavily Mormon-backed side that incited the focus on Mormonism. What's really damning to Mormons is the author's message, which is, essentially, "hey, pro gay rights folks, don't get into the mud and wrestle with those Mormons. We're more virtuous than they are and shouldn't descend to that level. Let's not win gay rights by fighting in the gutter."

As the old saying goes, what goes around comes around. Make an enemy, and there's always a price. Mormons should be wondering if this blood bath was worth the price.
