Best Italian Restaurant you've been to
I went to a place in Atlanta that was amazing! Sadly I can't remember the name of it, but it was very good. Best one you guys have been to? I'd especially be interested in some in the SLC area....

There was a place in Provo called "La Dolce Vita" that my Bro-in-Law turned me on to. He's an Italian food snob. Served his mission there an apparently did nothing other than become a food critic...
Anyway... That and a place in Vegas are the two best I've ever had. |
My brother took me to one in San Fransisco that was pretty amazing. I'll have to email him for the name of the place. But it paled in comparison to the many restaurants I've been to in the North End in Boston.

In SLC I loved the Ristorante Della Fontana, but I hear it is a sushi place now. If you don't mind the drive to Provo, Ottavio's is good.
|
I've heard good things about Ottavio's. I'll have to give it a try.
|
Ottavio's is very good.. and thank you both for not saying "Octavios".. that really bugged me for some reason
|
There is a new Octavio's (sorry, couldn't resist) in AF. It'd save you the trip all the way into Provo.
I liked it, good eats. I'm a big fan of the bread though at Macaroni Grill. For chain Italian Food, it doesn't get any better than that... |
Best Italian restaraunt in Utah is Fresco in Sugar House (about 1500 S. and 1500 E.) Trust me on this one.
Hippie mentioned La Dolce Vita in Provo - it was very good. but RMs liked it because of the owners - they were able to give up dates for pretty much any member or convert anywhere in Italy with their connections. BTW, Hippie - when and in which mission did your brother-in-law serve? |
Ottavio's is ok. My last ex, that was her favorite place. We went to the one in Provo and I wasn't that impressed. It just struck as being very regular.
The best Italian restaurant in Salt Lake is Lugano. I've been there a few times now and it's very good. Visit their website. http://www.luganorestaurant.com/ I believe over the past few years it had been voted #1 Italian restaurant in the state and is also Zagat rated, but not sure about this year. |
My cousin's hubby lived in Italy for two years, and he says Buca DiBeppo is the closest to the real thing that he's had.
