Chris Miles

Not to be a downer, but Miles is not the savior of the program some think he is.

His frosh year he played on a very bad team and averaged just under 14 minutes a game. In those 14 minutes he averaged:

2.3 rebounds a game (terrible rebound per minute stat for a big guy)
2.7 points a game on 36% shooting. If you don't remember that well, he was a mess on offense, and didn't seem to improve during the year.
1 block shot per game. One block per 14 minutes is pretty darn good, but he also averaged two fouls per game in 14 minutes (more foul prone than Plaisted this year), which means if he was counted on for more minutes he would always be in foul trouble if he played with that level of aggressiveness on block shots always.

Miles has the potential to be a minor role player for a year and then maybe progress into a decent starting center by his senior season, but he is not the savior some think he is.

Odd, I thought he was a soccer player.

Because of when he returns from his mission he'll probably redshirt.

Next year will be an NIT year with a first round loss in the NIT.

Without guards, real guards, the best we can hope for is a repeat of this year, and afterall the excitement which is March Madness that is pretty disappointing.

UNLV just won.
