This will give Hollywood a chance to be objective in its' telling of the event.

If I had to guess, I'd say that it will fail to do so.

"In writing the script, Mr. Cain said, he and Ms. Schutter were helped by a great-granddaughter of Brigham Young, who has left the church and become a born-again Christian

Doesn't Sandra Tanner fit that description??

As far as Hollywood being objective, the article mentions Cain using the a specific "version" of the story that does not seem to shed the best light on the Church. The problem is, the public will take this to be fact, ignorant to the fact that there are other possible version to the story, especially if Sandra Tanner really is part of the "research".

Eh, we've had bad press made about us before and more will surely follow. You can only hope they'll be fair in representing the church, but if not, it'll survive.

Two words that give me hope... Jon Voight...

Obviously this is a big budget hollywood blockbuster and everyone in the country will be racing to the box office to see it.

If this were the Movie version of "Under the Banner of Heaven" starring Brad Pitt or something along those lines, I might think that somebody will actually care.

This sounds like it's a script from nowhere played out by a bunch of has been actors. I wont be surprised if it goes straight to dvd.

Unfortunately, our church isn't without a black eye as far as history goes, our only hope is that they release it the same weekend as Da Vinci Code...that way the focus will be on the Catholic Church.

The truth is, we all know what an unfortunate incident this was, and the church has even recognized it as such, so, while there will be bad publicity, many I'm sure will recognize that it is in the past and has very little to do with our doctrine and our message.
