Now Ricco and The Whole Saunier Duval

This even strengthens my opinion that until the teams demand having clean riders, someone is going to cheat. So long Ricco.

Well, I don't think it's even been 12 hours since I posted that it seemed the TdF had taken a step forward this year. Perhaps they will need to line up all cyclists over the age of 18 and shoot them. Start with a fresh crop.

Kicking out Astana really did the trick, eh?

RC Vikings 07-17-2008 02:37 PM

Kicking the team out was a good step.

Ban the team from pro cycling for a year.

Ban the doper forever.

This is what needs to be done.

You need to leverage peer pressure from the other riders. I.e. you can ruin your own career, but if you ruin mine I'm going to kill you.

Ironically, there were Saunier-Duval jerseys on sale the other day and I almost bought one!

Good thing I didn't.

Yeah we should follow the better examples of baseball, football and basketball which are so squeaky clean.

fans of those sports don't care if the players are clean.

fans of cycling do. that's the difference.

You're correct. In fact, I believe cycling's cleaner than almost any other sport, but it's not as clean as we wish it would be.

When Ricco rode away on that one mountain stage, like everyone else was riding with flat tires, a guy on my club forum said "I'm pretty sure his hematocrit is 49.9999999999."

Well, turns out he was right. EPO.

It just gets to the point where you can't trust any result.

Contador, there was A LOT of smoke there.
