Jefe's new min-ignore feature

Anybody notice this:

http://www.cougarboard.com/noframes/...tml?id=2142148

Basically it means that anyone with over 25 ignores is now automatically ignored by everyone else. This includes fusnik, Mike, and SeattleUte. People can go in and manually change the min# to something higher, but it defaults to 25.

I saw that... and didn't like it.

My number is at 0... I find it stupid, but that's just me as I like reading posts by Fus and Waters... at least most of the time.

I did find it funny though, because after he turned it on, grapevine couldn't see his own posts.

:)

the number is not the number of ignores, it's some algorithm that jefe made up. I have no idea how it works though.

That's even worse. It's a secret number? How can you tell what affect it has. This is crazy.

nice now i am shut out of CB.

ewth8tr 10-02-2006 03:21 PM

yeah, no clue how it is calculated. He said he did that to keep people from trying to influence the numbers (like a big group of people all ignore a certain poster to get them put on the new ignore list). I put mine to 0 because I wouldn;t be able to rip on exute for being an idiot.

myboynoah 10-02-2006 03:28 PM

So, is 0 the best number to have if you want to see all the posts? I had no idea what he as talking about. I set mine to 0 because it said that would opt me out of the the new service.

Frankly, I like seeing all the posts, even idiots. Sometimes they're the funnest to read.

So the average poster now has default ignored a group of posters without even knowing?
