Did anybody read last month's article on Ceci St. Geme?

She was Ceci Hopp from Stanford in college and dominated the 10K when my sister ran.

She was gorgeous. So Runner's World did a piece on how she is a mom in her forties with six children, yet still is national class 5K runner, she consistently runs under 17 minutes, ouch.

This month in the printed version a man from Salt Lake City poohpoohs' her accomplishments in balancing running and her six chldren by saying, "no bid deal, she has lots of help and money." It was the stupidest comment I've ever seen, out of SLC no less.

I did see both the article and the comment from the guy in SLC. Sounds like sour grapes to me. If she has enough resources to pay for some help, more power to her.

Sounds like her daughter is following in her footsteps, so to speak. My favorite part of the article was when she said her dad once told her "Ceci, in the end, you're just running in circles, it's not that important". It's good to keep things in perspective like that. I also thought it was funny when she griped to her daughter's coach that 6 AM was too early for practice, and he didn't budge, and within a couple of weeks her daughter was at practice at 6 AM everyday.

Ceci was gorgeous in her day. Slight build, cute smile, degree from Stanford.

I saw the article, but haven't received the latest print version yet to see that comment. What an idiot. Oh, and she and her daughter were on the cover and she is still hot :)

When she ran the 10K at BYU's NCAA track championships, I along with 100 other drooling guys introduced myself. Mr. St. Geme is a lucky guy.

is this who you were drooling over?

Here's the link to the article.

I can't imagine doing 2:37 splits on the 800s. I barely hold 3:00s. Man that's depressing.

I couldn't find an online copy of the cover that I was talking about, but here is a pic that was inside that does her justice as well.
