One of the defining characteristics of Mormonism is its ability to adapt and survive. I found myself baffled by their moves with Prop 8 a few years ago. But I think doctrinally they will figure out how to spin it so gay people who are legally married can be together in the church and have a family and hold the priesthood. I do think I'll see that during my lifetime.
Interesting perspective, which may or may not be true. Begs the question of whether he would return tothe fold. He also says the church's view of gays is that they are "broken." I don't know if I agree that's the church's view, although I admit I don't think anyone actually knows what the church's view is.

I certainly could understand if somebody interpreted that as the church view.

Yes, I can see that interpretation. I just would describe it more as "it's ok to be gay--just no sex." In which case conceding that you have a natural tendency that can't be "fixed" (not broken?). Maybe I'm wrong. That was sort of my point. I do think the position is evolving, which is something that actor also says.

I see your distinction and it is a fine one. Perhaps yours is the correct interpretation, but I am forever grateful I don't fall into that category. I am very happy being what I am and would not want anything else.
