watch for Father's Day

Danimal wants a new watch for Father's Day. He told me not to spend too much so I have been looking at Overstock.com to get a good deal. I am thinking about this watch. What do you think?

This is the one I got a while back before we traded it in for something else.

I learned this valuable lesson from my wife: it's not about how much it costs, it's about how much you're saving off the regular price.

I say, snatch it up.

if you are serious about getting a nice watch at a good price, Mr. Cheap is the person you need to talk to, i.e. me.

Did you think I was serious about that watch? For $130K we could pay off our house and still have enough money left over for a trip to Hawaii. Danimal told me to spend $35 or less. He is so cheap. I was thinking of limiting it to $75.

Get him a Timex Ironman watch. Mine never leaves my body. I got mine for forty bucks. The dress watches are for other occasions.

I was merely suggesting you could find something modest such as my suggestion.

I bought two watches from this guy:

I ended up with two seiko automatics from like $40 apiece. An automatic is a self-winding mechanical watch that doesn't use a battery or solar power or anything like that.

I would love to live in a world where $5000 is "modest"...

BTW...I do like the Ironman watches, but I HATE my Indiglo Ironman--it's one of those where the digits light up orange instead of the backlight. It was cool at first, but it has a velcro band that you can't replace separately. Now the velcro band comes undone all the time.

This is the watch I wear typically:

You give that to him, and I guarantee you're getting lucky that night.
