Pain in leg!
I have this sharp pain on the outside of my right leg near my knee. I experienced the pain about 6 weeks ago, took a week off from running, and then I haven't felt the pain again until yesterday. The pain was so sharp that I could barely get through .25 of a mile yesterday, whereas 6 weeks ago the pain didn't become really sharp until the 1.5 mile mark of a run. The pain is not there when I'm walking, only when I'm putting pressure on it when running. I wonder if it is a ligament thing or maybe a slight bone crack. Anyone felt this type of pain before?

It might be this.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iliotibial_band_syndrome But you should see a doctor if you want a diagnosis. |
Agree with MW on both accounts.
Do a quick search here in the fitness and cycling forums for ITB syndrome (or some other common spelling) and you'll probably find a dozen threads talking about it. |
