You're assuming Toolson isn't coming back, which is probably true. Beo is supposed to be a walkon. There are 13 scholarships, so with Toolson gone and Beo presumably not getting one, it leaves open the possibility to pick up a 5 year transfer or maybe a JC guard for next year.

I can't imagine what role Toolson would have. He's a spot-up 3 point shooter, and not much else. So I think he wouldn't get any playing time.

The rumor is that he is done with basketball.

Another one is that he has problems with his back that he tried to play through until he didn't feel like he could anymore, and that he didn't tell the coaches about it at first. I have no idea if that is true, but it seems plausible.
