Folks, we need to win this one. Call or email your senator. Esp. if you have a democratic senator that represents you (like Harry Reid).

If you think Corzine, Lautenberg, Feinstein, and Schumer are douchebags, then helping to get this bill passed will be just the ticket to more constipation for these rats.

Done.

What has this country come to when the right to defend oneself is seen as a crime?

MikeWaters 07-23-2009 11:15 AM

We lost.

2 Republicans joined democrats in voting against cloture.

If your senator voted against this, please let him/her know that you are gravely disappointed.

This was a ridiculous bill. I am honestly surprised you support it, given your general support of state's rights.

Apparently, freedom means nothing in DC.

Really? I don't think you guys realize the absurdity of your position.

Are you taking the position that a state should have no right to establish its own criteria for determining who can and cannot receive a concealed weapon permit? Because effectively, that is what the legislation proposed. If Alaska, for example, were to say that anyone could have an Alaskan concealed weapon permit for any reason (including former felons, sex offenders, etc), and all they had to do would be to pay a $10 fee by mail and that they wouldn't even have to be a resident of Alaska to obtain such a permit, this legislation would have then required that the other 49 states accept that permit as valid in their state too. How does that make sense?

Ironically, you are strongly opposed to mandating that states recognize gay marriages performed in other states. Don't you believe in freedom?

Blah, blah, blah.

Save it for your worship of your master socialist in the White House.

In other words, you have no argument of substance.

That was easy.

I favor incorporation of the 2nd Amendment. It's a no brainer.

I favor expansion of what people generally think of as the right to bear arms.

There are federal statutes in place, if I am not mistaken, that prevent felons from owning firearms.
