Listen to the interview. When asked why civil unions weren't good enough, Mr. Whipple said that it is because civil unions are only recognized in the states in which they were performed and the gays wanted their marriages recognized in every state.

What did I tell you? That is their immediate objective. All this state rights crap is exactly that. Crap. They want it recognized throughout the USofA.

So I guess the first chicken little concern was just confirmed by the gay protester.

Wait a minute. When gay marriage was more a national issue, didn't the opponents to a constitutional amendment say it should be left up to the states the the DOMA specifically states that other states don't have to recognize their marriage.

I don't want my grandchildren to be taught, and they will be, that marriage can be anything. It may be what you want, it's not what I want. It's time to take a stand on something as basic as marriage. If you don't feel that same way. Fine.

But the more they want to flaunt their behavior and want their behavior, which I deem sick, recognized as normal, the more I will oppose them.

So the DOMA was a farce just to shut people up?
