We need to do what George Will recommended. Exert force (i.e. death from a distance). Through bombing, cruise missiles, drones, and the occasional strike force as necessary.

Liberalizing Afghanistan so that they don't kill their own women and children is a fool's errand. Makes me sad to say.

From the intel I've received, I think you're correct. The culture there is too trogloditic. The peoples are there are so far removed from becoming civilized that liberalizing them is impossible. I favor the idea of exerting force because it's all that nation understands.

It's a dilemma, leave and let Iran and the radicals have free reign, or stay and watch the death count of Americans continue to escalate without the situation improving.

And that goes everywhere, including the United States. If we have leaders that lack courage it is because the people lack courage.
