Los Angeles Marathon

They've moved the LA Marathon to the last week in May for 2009. I'm not an expert on So Cal weather, but isn't it usually pretty warm by that time of year? Not to mention, it will be competing with the very popular RnR San Diego Marathon, which is the the next weekend.

It was on very shaky ground before Frank McCourt bought it, and now I think this will be the death knell for the LA Marathon.

there was a big article on this in the LA times this week.

most people concur that the move is NOT a good idea.

Is RnR a lottery entry?

Nope. I'm not aware of any Elite Racing races that are lottery. They are capped, though, and frequently hit their cap.

Wife is pissed. She was on a schedule for president's day. She called me ranting yesterday about it.

Seems a stupid move then, I agree.
