3:1415926 Pi's Pacers - geeky younger brother of Phidippides in ancient Greece, was more interested in mathematics than in running.

And our newest celeb, Sarah Palin coming in with a 3:59.
My personal list begins and ends with Al Gore and Oprah Winfrey. If either of them beats me, please take me behind the woodshed and beat the living daylights out of me for even trying.

I was a little disappointed to see Mario Lopez finishing in 5:41, until I saw that Ali Landry finished the same race at the same time. I suspect there may have been several dozen other male runners capable of running much faster that finished around 5:41:30 that day.

I'm bothered by Dana Carvey and John Cracknell probably beating me.

Only 9 people on that list have run faster than my PR. That's not too bad, I guess.

As far as Mario Lopez is concerned, he was featured on the "I'm A Runner" page in Runner's World a few months back. He ran the '02 Boston with Ali Landry, and she kept stopping and starting. Apparently, they even stopped for lunch at one point. Ohhhhkaaay. Way to respect the most revered road race in the world, dude.

Will Ferrell, Boston Marathon 2003 (3:56:12)

That is actually respectable for that year. It was 85 degrees at the start.

I was really impressed with P. Diddy. The time wasn't incredible, but he only started training 8 weeks before, and raised $2M for NY Schools along the way.

Either way, I'd volunteer to help with his recovery.

I did a track workout yesterday afternoon and got to watch the university girls cross country team practice 100's. And then the lucky trainer who got to work their legs after practice. How do you get that job?

I'm doing afternoons from now on. The skin tight running shorts are the greatest running innovation of the last decade.
