It's a terrible scandal. Brutalized prisoners are less likely to make upstanding citizens.

For those of you who disagree, wait until there is someone you know and care about who goes to prison.

Somehow I've never known anyone who's been in prison.

Kind of weird, now that I think about it.

Guess I don't know enough minorities.

1/3rd of my neighbors (no exaggeration--literally 4 of ~12 houses) at my childhood home in Utah County went to prison. Mostly white collar criminals.
