My dad is going to start raising urban chickens

Where you keep a couple of chickens in your backyard (not roosters) and collect the eggs, etc.

I've heard organic eggs are fabulous. Esp. if the chickens get to eat bugs.

I'm looking forward to trying them.

My brother, who lives in the Bay Area, has a few chickens. My nieces love gathering up the eggs. A few of their neighbors buy eggs from them sometimes.

One family in our neighborhood tried chickens (they're great mosquito fighters, BTW) and some of the other neighbors got so huffy about having livestock around that they had to sell all the chickens.

Nice avatar, Marsupial!

I second that. Very cute little girl! I also liked the picture of your young son kissing a caterpillar. For a while I wondered why you had a picture of a little boy eating edamame, then I read the description.

Thanks to you and to Barbara. That's funny that you thought he was eating edamame. Unfortunately, my son avoids all foods that are naturally green, edamame included.
