It's official: Hollywood is completely out of ideas

Magnum P.I. to hit the big screens. Geez, what's next? I'm crossing my fingers for "The Facts of Life".

Or maybe Happy Days. And Laverne & Shirley.

It could be a double feature.

Did you see the article from Sundance that said an Affleck/Damon remake of "Butch Cassidy..." depressed Robert Redford. I thought that was hilarious. PAC, who is quite the movie aficionado, thoroughly agreed.

Quote:

Asked about rumors that Matt Damon and Ben Affleck may be remaking "Butch Cassidy," Redford said he finds that "depressing."

"There is no shortage of good, original ideas, and there's just no point to remakes. Why do they have to mess with things that were perfect the first time around?" he said with a groan.

Which stage of "Facts of Life" are you hoping for? Do you want the early-early years with a young Molly Ringwold (ugh, that has Dakota Fanning written all over it)? The early years when Jo was the rebel girl? Middle years when they began to take on responsibility or the late years when Mrs. G left and they brought in the redhead and the young teen guy to woo the girls back (maybe a Frankie Muniz-type)?

I'd be partial to the early years myself, although it was fun once they opened the candy shop!

You two are sick, sick people, if you can memorize lines from a show I had hoped to forget existed.

And the fact that ParrotHead can actually remember the various stages of the show is very disturbing. Now leave me alone whilest I read something much more comforting, such as the goings-on in Iraq, Iran or Afghanistan.

I'm honestly not as down on this Magnum idea as much as you guys are. It has the potential to have some good car chases, a helicopter chase (you don't get a lot of that), and finally, if they re-do the scene in the opening credits where he's teaching the girl how to swim....

At least the article said it wouldn't be a farcical remake so if they pick the right actor it could be interesting. Matthew McConaghuey? John C. McGinley (from Scrubs)? Rainn Wilson (aka Dwight Schrute)?

Miami Vice is also being made in to a movie, i heard Jamie Foxx was in it. Maybe Don Johnson is like the god father.

I'm sorry, but you aren't quite correct my friend. Blazing Saddles had cowboys and homosexuals. Brokeback Mountain just combined the two.

;)
