indymac will cost 4-8 billion to prop up.

feds have 53 billion total to save banks that are failing. Then, they'll go broke. Then what? Sounds like more taxes to me. To find out about your bank status go to fdic.com and find the list of their ratings. If you have no money, no need to worry, tic.

correction-- For info on your bank google fdic or fdicbanks and look for finacials.

It's www.fdic.gov, not .com. And this is what they say:

Quote:

The FDIC never releases its ratings on the safety and soundness of banks and thrift institutions to the public.

That page has links to rating services. This one works pretty well:

I own stock in a Cali bank.

Big mistake. At this point, I'm so down that I'm going to ride it out.

Just tell me what is Bank of America ranking currently? I can't navigate this site on the link. Thanks.

They're talking about another "stimulous" package on CNBC squakbox this morning. How much will this one be? Any bankers on cg? This is really a tenuous time in the house of cards of finance, imho.

Wow, Wells Fargo beat their earnings estimate and increased there dividend.

CNBC actually acted like they were pissed off. CNBC had some guy on yesterday touting his brilliance and he was saying Freddie and Fannie should be allowed to fail. Wipe out the stockholders. They did mention his hedge fund was short the stock at the end.

CNBC is good for information for someone to mull over. As far as following any advice on there, do so at your own peril. Those people are journalists, not financial guru's.
