Being the dingaling that I am
after I read the Legends of Gilgamesh from the translation of seven translators, I wondered what Akkadian looked like. Cunieform means wedge-shaped, but the rules governing their use are very arcane and complex.
In other words, I was sorry I inquired. http://www.sron.nl/~jheise/akkadian/Welcome_list.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akkadian_language Actually it looks quite Arabic and somewhat Hebraic, IOW, quite complex. |
Did you really just call yourself a ding-a-ling? That's funny.
I did a junior high project on cunieform. I had to write a paper, but you got extra credit if you provided a visual aid. So I bought a ton of play-do and rolled it out really thin and then used a wedge (it was actually a tupperware orange peeler) to make the characters. man I was a nerd. |

The professor claims it's easier than it looks because there aren't too many conjugations. I'm not falling for that, though. |
