Watching Tulsa at UL-Monroe

They run a no-huddle offense. The goal, as stated several times now, is to snap the ball within five seconds of the officials' "ready to play" whistle, and they are near it just about every play. They drove in for a quick touchdown on the first possession, but punted within a few plays on the second. Looks like they like the spread option as well.

The defense looks decent, but susceptible to the run. UL-Monroe has a decent little running back upon whom they are overly dependent.

Tulsa's special teams are getting creamed, thanks to a very good kicker on UL-Monroe's team.

They're running more than passing right now, and they've already gone for a couple good runs. Main threat at RB looks to be a no. 23, JA Williams.

Fumbled snap from center by Tulsa, returned for a touchdown.

I'll be kinda surprised if this year's game against Tulsa isn't a little similar to last years.

I really like their QB Paul Smith, but not much else on their team scares me.

All you need to know about Tulsa football.

When we lived there back in the late 90's, I remember an article in the local paper about a big debate going on at the University. Apparently they had planted a bunch of trees in the practice field, right before the start of Fall Camp. Part of the City of Trees thing Tulsa has going on. Anyway, the football coach was having a big fight with the administration to try and get them removed.

On a similar note, I was surprised to see how low the enrollment numbers at Tulsa were. They only have a Studentbody of around 4000, which includes 1200 grad students. For some reason I thought it was a bigger school.
