These chickens are not doing well. Yes, they are perfectly healthy and able to live fulfilled lives. But they have stopped laying eggs. And an egg-laying chicken that no longer lays eggs has little use to its owner. Yes, we see this in all species-strata, including humans.

My father plans to kill them and eat them, very shortly.

Why don't you rescue them? Your children must love them.

I have a dog that would undoubtedly kill them.

Why does a chicken generally stop laying eggs? Do we know?

I am just curious. I would like to get a couple of chickens for the eggs.

My dad has a great recipe for Dutch oven chicken. You want me to have him send it to your Dad?

MikeWaters 09-22-2008 08:12 PM

Fair enough, but it's your Dad's loss.

And yes, my Dad could beat up your Dad, but wouldn't do it because he always asks himself what Jesus would do.
