Babs' Avatar: Offensive

So a porn star dresses up like Sarah Palin, and we're supposed to laugh. In fact, pictures of this porn star dressed up as Sarah Palin in a bikini, in little-girl outfits in a classroom . . . I'm sure a movie has already been made . . . and we're supposed to laugh.

1. The mainstreaming of porn as a comical device is not funny.

2. The "I'm here to be fuc*ed" is a disgusting meme about Palin that is being peddled by disgusting figures.

3. Don't say it's no different than if a black male porn star dressed up like Barack Obama (haven't seen photo evidence of that for others' amusement and mockery) . . . In the instance of porn and the use of women as sexual tools -- it's different.

4. It's the debased joke of all jokes, and it doesn't even have the redeeming value of political satire. It plays only on stereotype, and it's sexist.

5. There's lack of respect, and then there's lack of respect.

6. We no longer have any standards about what is acceptable or appropriate so long as it's funny. Ha ha ha ha.

There are many other reasons, but I'll step down for now.

The plot's a bit thin but the visuals are stunning.

This joke is #1 on the list of "stale and old jokes about pornography".

Your material is usually pretty good, but even Leno has moved past this joke, which is saying something.

Give the mob its blood and gore and death! Feed the mob its meat! It wants to devour!

Good point. Porn is intended to be comical and make us laugh. Noted.

You obtuse POS. But again, I'm not going to fall for it and fall into a DDD "I'm dense" vortex. Go entertain yourself.

You know, it's a good, solid joke. Not great, but serviceable. Certainly not something that calls for a below the belt shot like that Leno quip of yours.

You know what would make Nailin' Palin perfect? If the actress in the Palin role tries to copy her weirdly Minnesota accent. That would possibly make it the most perfect porn flick ever.

I imagine you missed the thread that prompted this avatar. Il Pad suggested that I had to go back to my sexbomb avatars if I wanted to get any attention around here.

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe have been alone in my insistence that the selection of Palin represents a step backward for women. So I hardly take criticism of the avatar seriously from a group who collectively fails to see just exactly what it is that Palin represents, and why she is so dangerous for the progress of American women as a whole.

And your feminist cause says, "thank you!" for the wonderful choice of avatar. And in any event, you have chosen a wonderful, and very insightful, manner to demonstrate why Palin is a step backward for women. Keep flying your banner high!
