Thanks I was wondering why we didn't have one yet.

I have really enjoyed the Winter Point Series http://forums.nike.com/thread.jspa?t...8533&tstart=60
Hopefully there will be another in the Spring, because this got me out running and made me faster.

I am looking at doing this, but will need a partner: http://forums.nike.com/thread.jspa?t...2971&tstart=15

I saw you on the front page of that one several times. You did very well. Those challenges came right after I had surgery and I recorded some pretty lame times. I hope they do another point series because that was the most organized challenge yet.

Have you checked the overall results of the winter points series? I had checked several times but it was not up yet. I would imagine that you have done very well on all of the speed ones. Fuegote tore it up on the distance weeks.

i know what you're referring to by "lame times"... nice.

TheSizzle36 03-16-2008 02:58 AM

Nice. I need something to motivate me to start running again. These challenges may be it...

Before this last week I was in 4th and I hope to maybe move up to 3rd with my best run ever. 7.5 miles in 51 minutes. I have never run longer, faster. It was a good feeling.

I swear those guys that win these things cheat somehow by not having their things calibrated correctly. That one guy did the 7.5 miles in 39 minutes. That is flying.

Runner Coug 03-17-2008 11:45 PM

You guys are going to force me to go buy another Nike+ kit, I lost the part you put in the Nano.

fuegote 03-18-2008 03:04 AM

I love the challenges. I have some RSL Fun RUns (we are running to each stadium as a team). We started in SL, and have already covered our trip to LA, up to San Jose and are back in Nevada heading East. If you guys want in, I"ll post the invite.

Go figure. Once again I have a race scheduled shortly after the fastest 5k challenge ends.

I was planning on hitting it hard this morning to try to drop some seconds on my 5K times. But my buddy that I ran with did a bike race last night and was dead this am. So I did an easy 7 miler with some 150-200 yard sprints mixed in.

Sea Chicken 03-20-2008 08:24 PM

I'm resting today. I need to put in a 20-miler tomorrow. Training for Ogden in a couple of months.

Thats a pretty hefty training run for a race that's still a couple of months away. What is your long run training schedule?

Actually, it's kind of sneaking up on me. I'm just trying to get long runs in when I can. With my travel schedule it's tough. I did a 20 two weeks ago and after tomorrow's I hope to be able to get two or three more in. Plus I have a half marathon (Race to Robie Creek) in April.

Have you decided whether or not to do Pocatello this year?

Yeah, I'm definitely planning on Ogden and Pocatello. I'm also mulling over Deseret News. I'll see how I feel after Ogden.

bigpiney 03-27-2008 10:22 PM

I'm going the SL Half, the Wasatch Back and I'm pretty sure I'll be doing the Logan Half and Logan Full two weeks after that.

You need to do the Ogden half with me. Its a beautiful course running past Pine View Resivoir (sp?), and down Ogden Canyon, then down the Ogden river parkway into downtown ogden.

The Winter Racing Circuit Half is next weekend, the 5th of April. I'm looking forward to it. It'll be the third year in a row I've run it, and it's a good race. It follows the first half of the Ogden Marathon route. Running this one along with the Ogden Half is a good way to see the Ogden Marathon route, without actually running the full Ogden Marathon.

I'm glad there's a Spring Points series and I see that many of you are signed up again. I have to say that the 1K caused me as much suffering as any distance running I've done lately. You'd think that a bit less than 2 1/2 laps would be a cinch, but that really hurt. I went out super fast and it all went downhill from there. My iPod ripped me off a little bit, but I'm sure that happens to everyone because we don't calibrate at those speeds. I came in 1 second behind bluegoose and well behind bigpiney.

10K challenge that ends on 6/10/08.

I'm not sure who the runner was that sent me the invite. Was it any of you guys?

Nauvoo to Winter Quarters run. 50 miles per month for 6 months.

I'm not sure who it it that keeps inviting me to these cheesy Mormon challenges, but I just can't say no. Do they include NikePlus usernames in the church's MLS directory now?

They're seeing you in the BYU challenges. I haven't been invited to a single cheesy or non-cheesy (probably aren't any non) Mormon challenge though so maybe it is someone who knows you.
