Have no idea as to validity, but interesting analysis.

I've never gone to a wedding ceremony (or in the LDS case, the reception) and wondered if the couple would remain married. In fact, it's never even occured to me to even think that.

I go for the food. I don't care what is served, just bring it to me. My wife does the "wedding" stuff" - talk the the bride and groom, their parents, family and friends, etc.. I tolerate that because sometimes, a kindly server will bring me another portion of whatever is being served because he or she can see that I'm bored.

I don't go to receptions any more.

My wife and I were walking out of the temple after one of my cousins got married and we saw one wife at the bottom of the stairs and her new husband at the top. The wife looked sad (probably because something was going wrong with wedding preps) and the husband looked down at her and said...

"just try and act happy."

Mind you, they were just married.

My wife and I walked out laughing.

I faintly remember saying something like that once but that memory also includes my head ringing and me looking around on the floor to make sure I had picked up all of my teeth so I can't be sure what I actually said.
