I think what Goat's saying is that Hall had the guts to tell the people who expected him to serve a mission that he didn't want to serve, not that he respects that Hall quit his mission. As proof, I offer this: http://www.utefans.net/message.php?i...#message546627
Let's admit it - there is a significant number of kids who serve missions because it's expected of them, not because they want to do it. The expectations start at an early age - 3 year olds learn the song "I hope they call me on a mission" - and it only builds from there.
I'm not saying that those expectations are wrong, per se, but in my mission, had all those who didn't want to be there had the guts to face those who wanted them to serve, my guess is that there would have been about 35-40 Elders (of 90-95) who wouldn't have been there.
I think Goat is yanking a few chains with that post, but I think Hall did show some guts to admit that he didn't want to be there.
Of course, I also think he's a pussy to have quit.
